Starting Out at SQL Sentry

Chris HuffSQL Sentry has afforded me my first real world introduction into my passion for technology. As an intern, my experience so far has been great! I came to SQL Sentry to join the support team in helping customers troubleshoot issues in their environment. Some of it can be technically challenging! It was an adjustment coming in from a different industry, learning the company culture and organization, but it was a refreshing change I was eager to embrace.

When I switched from a long career as a pharmacy technician to now providing technical support, I was expecting things between my two careers to be very different. In some ways, there are obvious differences, such as working at a desk and multitasking various projects versus constantly bouncing back and forth between counters and stations helping pharmacy customers. However, I have come to find that the similarities between my two job experiences point to the customer and how you relate to them. This means making sure their expectations have been satisfied and providing them with a good experience in how they were supported.

I have enjoyed working at SQL Sentry - getting to know new faces, working with some of the best professionals in the field, and enjoying a fun, corporate environment.

Chris Huff started as a Technical Specialist Intern here at SentryOne in January of 2016, providing customer support services. He is currently working towards his BA in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a graduation date of December 2016. Previously, Chris was a certified pharmacy technician at several independent retail pharmacies.
