Live and In Person! My Speaking Schedule for 2016

After a couple months with very little travel, it's time to get back into the swing of things. On the positive side, my general health metrics have never been better! I intend to pull all of those numbers again in mid-summer to see what a couple few months of maniacally heavy travel does to important health indicators, such as cholesterol, cortisol (the stress hormone), A1C, and so forth.

I've put down as many events as I'm aware of in which I have some chance of speaking. However, once you get to about August, the schedule is almost entirely speculative. So expect updates to this post as future conference dates firm up and my calendar gets stabilized. In the meantime, here are the SQL Server events I'll be at:

SQL Saturday #483, Colorado Spring, CO – April 2nd

First up is SQLSaturday #483 - Colorado Springs 2016. It's been a few years since I was last in Colorado, when I got to visit all of the SQL Server user groups in the state back in 2012. That visit was just after the horrible wild fires tore through much of the state. I'm looking forward to see how the resilient people of Colorado Springs have bounced back. Details will be posted soon.

SQL Saturday #507, Edmonton, Alberta – April 9th

It might be cold. It might be warm. It might be wet. It might be dry. But SQLSaturday #507 - Edmonton 2016 will be the first event ever from this fun group of hard-working volunteer leaders. Oh, and there will be axe throwing at the Axehole!

SQL Bits XV, Liverpool, UK – May 4th-7th

I have submitted four sessions for this event, despite the website showing eight. I'm sure I must've pressed some buttons twice. :-/ The final selections have not yet been made, so I might be completely rebuffed. However, if you use SQL Sentry, you won't want to miss our SQL Sentry Boot Camp training day offering on May 4th!

SQL Saturday #526, Rochester, NY – May 14th

As it turns out, I have family in Rochester on my notorious maternal grandfather's side. But I haven't visited since I was grade-school age. Maybe I'll get a chance to visit not just some customers, but also some family? Although my exact session list for SQLSaturday #526 - Rochester 2016 is not yet set, I should be presenting a couple sessions on Saturday as well as a pre=conference workshop.

SQL Saturday #521, Atlanta, GA – May 21st

It's only a short four-hour drive from Nashville to Atlanta, so this is a must-do from a personal perspective. I can't say which of the four sessions I submitted with be on the roster at SQLSaturday #521 - Atlanta 2016, since the schedule is not yet posted. But if I get accepted to speak, I'll be there while my horde of daughters will be at some nearby mall.

SQL Saturday #501, Dublin, Ireland – Jun 18th

My favorite destination of the year is SQLSaturday #501 - Dublin 2016. This year, I'll be presenting some sessions and the popular and informative pre-conference workshop 50 Things All SQL Developers Need to Know. Sign up today!

SQLVacation, Details TBD, - July

If you've been reading my blog with any regularity, you probably remember the #SQLVacation speaking tour I did last summer. We're planning another adventure to a different part of the USA this year with multiple stops at all of the SQL Server user groups along the way! I've got to get to work on those details. And once things start to firm up, I'll post the latest details. Hopefully, we won't have any adventures of the Griswold variety this time around. :-D

SQL Saturday #531, Louisville, KY – Aug 6th (Tentative)

It's a rare year that I don't visit SQLSaturday #531 - Louisville 2016. I've submitted a handful of new sessions, plus a pre-conference workshop.

SQL Saturday #530, Indianapolis, IN – Aug 13th (Tentative)

It's only a five hour drive, so how could I say no to SQLSaturday #530 - Indianapolis 2016? Like Louisville before it, I have submitted some sessions and a pre-conference workshop.

IT/Dev Connections, Las Vegas, NV - Oct 10-13th

IT/Dev Connections is a fun multi-disciplinary conference, with tracks for the entire spectrum Dev and IT Pro professions. The hotel is lovely. The accommodations are top notch. And the registration benefits are the best I've ever seen. If you have a hand in multiple areas, not just SQL Server, or if you prefer your events to accommodate a smaller speaker-attendee ration, then this is the event for you.

PASS Community Summit 2016

The last and biggest event of the year is the PASS Community Summit. And that reminds me that I must be going, because I have not submitted my abstracts for this must-attend event! I hope to see you there!

Thanks again. I hope to see you at one of these upcoming events!
