SentryOne Names New Chief Executive Officer
SentryOne announced this week that Bob Potter has been named Chief Executive Officer.
Potter, who has an extensive background in scaling tech firms, succeeds Greg Gonzalez, company founder who will move into a new role of Chief Technology Officer for SentryOne.
“SentryOne has long been known for our unmatched innovations to optimize Microsoft SQL Server database performance across the business spectrum,” Gonzalez said. “As we have scaled, it has taken me further away from the technology, which is my true passion. This move enables me to renew my focus on the tech to ensure we remain at the forefront, and, with Bob Potter’s leadership, the company will be poised to achieve even greater success and market penetration,” Gonzalez added.
Potter most recently has been part of the operating team with San Francisco based Alpine Investors. Prior to joining Alpine, he held senior executive roles with leading business intelligence, analytics and data management software companies including Rocket Software, Kalido Corporation, QlikTech International AB and Expressor Software.
He was Executive Vice President of IONA Technologies where he engineered growth of the company into a $180M global enterprise, and Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Services at Object Design, Inc., where he grew sales from less than $1M to $60M, earning the Inc. 500 award as the fastest growing company in the USA. He has served as a consultant to SentryOne for the past 6 months and has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions.
“I have come to regard SentryOne, and especially its talented management and technology teams, as truly exceptional leaders in a fast-expanding, hot technology space,” Potter said. “Greg has built an amazing team of leaders and technologists and I am truly excited about helping the company move quickly to solidify its market presence and expand its business at home and abroad.”
