The Data Generation component of BI xPress enables you to quickly generate test and sample data to use for testing, understanding performance or demonstration purposes. It enables you to generate data for a specific table, a set of tables or an entire database. It understands relationships in the database schema and will prepare data generation plans that accommodate foreign keys.

You have the ability to randomly generate data based on the column data type, or you can use a list of existing data to populate the tables. In addition, you can take advantage of built-in sets of demographic data to generate realistic test data, using realistic names and addresses. You can also extend the built-in data sets with your own data, enabling you to create test data that looks like your data, but is randomized to protect the privacy of your internal data.
