How to Create a Data-Driven Testing Project with SentryOne Test

Setting up data-driven testing may sound complicated, but SentryOne Test makes it easy to implement. Our wizard-based application allows you to set up projects with just a few clicks. Within minutes, you can create dozens of data tests by simply selecting the objects you want to test. From there, SentryOne Test will generate multiple tests covering common scenarios for that type of object.

The first step in the process is creating a project. For that, we’ve created a quick video outlining the process, as well as the step-by-step instructions showing just how quick and easy it is to do.

How to Create a SentryOne Test Project:

Step 1: Begin by opening Windows Visual Studio. Go to File > New > Project.

Step 2: Go to the Visual C# templates and scroll through the list until you see the SentryOne Test Project templates.

Step 3: There are two SentryOne Test Project templates, one for MSTest and one for NUnit. Choose which test framework you would like to use.

Step 4: Name the project, select a location, and pick a solution name.

Step 5: Choose whether or not to make a directory for your solution and click OK. This will create a project and a default test file for you within that project.
